Former Panorama player selected for upcoming COSAFA Cup
Hosts South Africa will kick off their campaign with a tough clash against old foe Zimbabwe on 3 December, which already has the potential to be something of a pool decider.
The year just keeps getting better for former Panorama Football Club midfielder, Ethan Brooks.
He and teammates Sipho Maseti, Macbeth Mahlangu, Ndumiso Xulu, Ethan Brooks and Sechaba Ramosedi from TS Galaxy that compete in the Multichoice Premier League received call-ups to do duty for South Africa.
The impressive crop of youngsters will be part of the SA U/20 squad selected for the upcoming COSAFA Cup Championships that will be staged in Nelson Mandela Bay from 3 to 13 December. It provides teams from the region with an excellent opportunity to test their new generation of young stars.
Hosts South Africa will kick off their campaign with a tough clash against old foe Zimbabwe on 3 December, which already has the potential to be something of a pool decider.
But it would also be foolish to write off the other two teams in the pool, Mozambique and Lesotho, who meet in the tournament opener on the same day.
The home side will do battle with neighbours Lesotho three days later, before they finish against Mozambique on 8 December.
Zimbabwe’s final game against Lesotho at the same time could also be crucial to both side’s semi-final chances in what is likely to be a tight pool.
Ethan’s journey began at Mondeor Meteors Football Club and he spent some time at the Jabez Football Academy before joining the Radiokop-based Panorama FC.
“Being a professional footballer is a prophecy being fulfilled as my parents would always remind me that this was destined for me,” said Ethan.
Ethan’s growth from a four-year-old soccer-loving boy to his professional debut at the age of 18 shows the dedication and desire in him, making him an example to other aspiring footballers in the country.
