RYC Series launches Running Club on Strava

According to Michael, the next two weeks will see the release of the 2021 RYC Series Calendar on Strava, and confirmed that the Joburg 10K CITYRUN, Durban 10K CITYRUN and Cape Town 12K CITYRUN will be included in the line-up of ongoing and motivational challenges on this calendar.

Whether runners are pushing their pace or distance, the human body can only go as fast or far as the brain believes possible.

If one would ask any athlete about the advantages of training runs, they’ll certainly tell you that mental toughness is just as important as physical strength.

Runners can now connect with like-minded individuals and track all their training runs after the organisers of the Run Your City Series (RYC Series) launched the RYC Series Running Club on Strava.

Runners will also be able to view the weekly RYC Series leader board, keep up to date with RYC Series information, access training tips and the discussion forum, and be notified of upcoming events and challenges, while standing a chance to win spectacular prizes.

“The launch of a RYC Series Running Club is long overdue,” said Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, Michael Meyer.

“Not only will the club be the perfect platform for runners to challenge themselves while connecting with like-minded individuals, it will also enable us to share instant event-related information and receive direct feedback, queries and/ or suggestions from the RYC Series running community.

“Let’s not forget about the exciting competitions and giveaways that we will be running both as motivation and reward,” said Michael.

When completing the events or RYC Series Running Club challenge distances on Strava, runners are required to record their run using a smartphone (Android or iPhone device) or smart watch (Garmin, TomTom, SUUNTO, Fitbit, Polar etc.).

On completion, runners must upload their results to Strava. The easiest way is to link your device to Strava permanently, that way the data will load automatically and a leader board will be displayed on the RYC Series Running Club homepage on Strava.
