Golden Drifters Football Club has indicated that during the current SAB League window period, registration of new players will be open from 28 April to 8 May.
The club is looking for more charges to beef up their current squad which is currently campaigning in the SAFA West Rand Regional Men’s SAB League.
“The team is looking to bring in new players that can add value to the current squad. We already have players in place who have been playing for the club, but we want to add a few players who are committed and can make us finish the league in a better position.
“The opening of the window period really gives us a boost as a team. The season is a bit long so during the season some players drop out.
“It also gives us an opportunity to loan some boys to other teams and add some – all we want is a Golden Drifters FC that can compete with other top teams in the league,” said club president Proud Shoko.
Although currently placed 11 on the log, the Zandspruit outfit’s goal for the season is to finish within the top four in the league to qualify for regional play-offs.
“If we finish in that position it gives us hope for provincial play-offs in August,” explained Proud.
Players who would like to join the club are encouraged to look out for information on the clubs’ social media platforms, both Facebook and Instagram.
“They need to have their clearance documents with them and meet all other additional requirements. All players will undergo a medical test, so if you want to join, make sure you’re medically fit.
“Drifters welcomes any player from any background and province to be part of this fast-growing West Rand based brand,” said Proud.
