Green and gold his aim
Tristan Hogins wants to realise his rugby dreams to play for the National team one day.
Crawford International Ruimsig’s Grade 11 rugby player Tristan Hogins has been selected to represent the U/18 SA team in Ireland from December 5 to 15.
“I’ve always dreamt of becoming a professional rugby player,” Tristan explained. “I’ve never had many opportunities to show off my talents, but this year I was selected to play for the Central West team to represent my school.”
Tristan and his team were at the Rhino Week in Vanderbijlpark.
“We played three matches and in my first match I really played badly. I didn’t show the scouts and those who were watching what I could do, but then in my second match I started playing to my full potential and I was noticed by a scout,” he continued.
“My hard work paid off. I was selected for the U/18 team to represent South Africa in Ireland. We’ve been given the opportunity to play against different clubs in Ireland and possibly be selected to play for those clubs in the future.”
Tristan said that without the support and encouragement from his school and teammates he would not have been where he is now.
