Athletics event at Hoërskool Florida a runaway success

Many schools walked away with wonderful achievements and look forward to the championships.

Many schools gathered at Hoërskool Florida to compete against one another in an athletics meet.

Bernice Oosthuizen from Laerskool Roodebeeck said, “The athletes always seem to amaze me with the amount of talent that they have. It was a very successful day and I am very proud to be a part of it.”

Jessica Courtney from Laerskool Helderkruin explained they had 127 athletes who took part and ultimately brought home 97 medals – 35 gold, 35 silver and 27 bronze. She added that on February 13, 55 of their athletes are set to take part in the Roodepoort Championships and they wish them the best of luck!

Michelle Janse van Vuuren from Laerskool Horison concluded, “The school’s athletes had a great performance. We are proud of each Horie and look forward to more achievements at the championships.”
