Rumisig parkrun celebrates 300th event milestone

The event was a celebration of perseverance, connection, and the people who continue to make the Ruimsig parkrun a special space for residents every Saturday morning.

The winter chill was impossible to ignore on Saturday, June 6, as frost covered the grass and an icy wind swept across the course at the Ruimsig Athletics Stadium.

Yet the chill did not stop hundreds of people from lacing up their running shoes and heading to the Ruimsig parkrun for a special celebration.

Volunteers arrive at the parkrun early in the morning to set up the course, scan the barcodes, and do everything that is needed to ensure that the day runs smoothly and safely for everyone. Their commitment has made the parkrun a welcoming space for first-time parkrunners and regular ones who continue to enjoy their morning runs there.
