Softball season end with a bang

The 2024 JSA Softball League came to a spectacular end on Saturday, March 23.

The second half of the 2023/2024 Softball League came to a brilliant end on Saturday.

Officially dubbed the Bosmont Softball League by the Johannesburg Softball Association (JSA), an atmosphere of thrill and excitement permeated the air as the final games got underway on Saturday afternoon.

The finals were comprised of three divisions, namely the Majors Cup, Majors Plate and Minors League.

Another big hit in the game between Diamond Divas and Angels.

The 2023 JSA Softball League, which ran from September until December 2023, consisted of 10 teams at the start of the season. The introduction of two new team in January this year sparked the beginning of an intense eight weeks of ‘Softball Saturdays’, as teams battled it out for their place in the finals.

Spectators turned up en-masse to support their favourite teams for what promised be explosive and nail-biting games and the successful conclusion of the 2023/24 Softball season.

The finals saw some awesome hits, incredible catches and fantastic plays, with each team playing their hearts outright to the finish.

The Mets dominated every aspect of the game.

In the end, the Diamond Divas delivered an explosive performance, beating the Angels with 12 runs to five to claim the Majors Cup.

In the Majors Plate division, the Mets delivered a massive blow to the Cobras, beating them 18 runs to two.

The Minors League was dominated by the White Sox Juniors, who made short work of Slytherin with a score of 11 runs to six.

The finals were followed by a prize-giving ceremony and special mentions.

The remaining teams will all surely be fired up by the reset and will hope to be playing for silverware of their own come next season!
