Roodepoort Rugby Club goes head-to-head with Brakpan

The Roodepoort Rugby Club played against the Brakpan Rugby Club at Bosman Stadium recently, but unfortunately game home empty-handed.

The Roodepoort Rugby Club had a competitive start to their season but have dedicated themselves to remaining consistent with their training and skills in hopes of achieving their 2024 goals.

On April 6, the club played against the Brakpan Rugby Club at Bosman Stadium where the U21, first and second teams embarked on a nail-biting, physical head-to-head 80-minute game leaving their supporters, coaches and team members on the edge of their seats.

Chairperson of the Roodepoort Rugby Club, Theuns Naudé was confident that his players would bring their confidence to the field despite the weather bringing doubts.

The U21 Brakpan team came out successful with an astounding score of 33–0 followed by their second team winning 33–5 to the boys. The first team unfortunately could not finish their game on time as heavy rain caused them to only play the first half.

“I always tell the boys that a loss is only a stepping stone to learning what to improve for upcoming games. Instead of them feeling discouraged, they should keep their heads held high and show how proud they are in their Roodepoort gear,” Naudé said.
