Florida Albion U12 secures semi-final spot
Florida Albion Football Club's formidable U12 team is geared to dominate this season.
The Florida Albion U12 football team has been on a stellar run this season, showcasing remarkable progress under the expert guidance of coach Yoliswa Ngamlana, manager Reagan Mitchell and the unwavering backing of their passionate supporters.
Week after week, parents line the sidelines, cheering and sometimes enthusiastically sharing advice, creating an atmosphere of unity and a winning spirit that has fuelled the team’s success.
“Our boys’ commitment to their craft is exemplary, with training sessions three times a week ensuring they’re always prepared for the challenges ahead,” says the club’s vice chairperson Haadie Solomon.
“It is this hard work and dedication that has placed us at the top of the log in our league and earned us a coveted spot in the semi-finals of the Rand Central Knockout Cup.”
During their most recent cup game held on September 21, the formidable team played at their home ground against ETS Football.
“With confidence tempered by humility, our boys knew they could win but respected the challenge posed by a strong ETS side,” says Haadie.
However, on match day, Albion’s dominance was undeniable, securing a comprehensive 6–0 victory.
The goals came from Aurin Olifant, who netted a brace, Cale Schoeman, and Tshomollo Matlala.
Maepa Mmanakana, the team’s top goal scorer this season, added two more goals to his tally with another impressive brace.
The entire team delivered a solid performance, with a rock-solid defence and a midfield that controlled the game throughout.
“This victory has propelled us into the semi-finals, where we will face our rivals, Panorama FC, in what promises to be a thrilling showdown.
“The match is scheduled for October 19 at Panorama Football Club, and our boys are ready to leave everything on the field as they fight for a place in the final. We invite all spectators, near and far, to come and witness the passion and determination these young athletes play with.”
