Kickboxers shine at Golden Lion tournament

Two beginner kickboxers from Team Rage Kickboxing dominated in their events at the recent Golden Lion Tournament.

Team Rage Kickboxing fighters fared spectacularly at the Golden Lion Kickboxing Tournament held at the Crown Garden Gardens Recreation Centre in Robertsham on October 5 and 6.

According to Sensei Darin Opperman, two of his students, Charla Pieterse and Monica Peparai, who took part in their very first kickboxing tournament, both had exceptional outcomes.

“Charla won one gold and two bronze medals while Monica took home two silver medals,” boasts Opperman.

“Both fighters took part in the Light Contact category as well as in Low Kicking Modes.”

Opperman adds that their next tournament will be held in February 2025.

“We are focussing all our attention on preparation for next year’s tournament, where I am sure our fighters will shine even brighter.”

Team Rage Kickboxing is situated in Horison and caters to fighters of all levels, from beginners to seasoned experts.

“We invite anyone who has an interest in kickboxing, whether for fitness or fun or to reach more competitive goals, to join us,” he concludes.
