Walking for wellness

Residents of St Michaels retirement village come together for their annual marathon walk.

The St Michaels Village Retirement Centre hosted their annual marathon walk on October 12, bringing together and inspiring their residents, family members, and furry friends for a morning of fun, fitness and enjoying the outdoors.

Held on a warm sunny morning, the event saw participants of all ages and abilities, including those in a wheelchair, and therapy pups from Paws for People unite for a lively marathon to keep their blood flowing.

The atmosphere was electric, with smells and cheers abounding as participants enjoyed the scenic route. The beloved tradition of four-legged friends joining in added an extra layer of comfort.

Following the main event, the Lions Club International treated participants to a delicious boerie roll braai. The celebration continued with an exciting prize-giving ceremony and live saxophone music, ensuring an unforgettable experience.
