Residents lace up for weekly parkrun

The Ruimsig parkrun celebrated new faces and milestones.

The weekend is always a good time to unwind from the busy and demanding schedules of the week, and what better way to jumpstart the weekend than with an early morning run at the Ruimsig parkrun at Ruimsig Stadium?

The parkrun brings together residents who volunteer to walk, run, or jog in the morning to either increase their steps or stretch their legs. Recently, the parkrun has grown as more community members have joined, filling the stadium with their colourful shorts and shades.

“On such hot days, we usually expect our runners to pace themselves because we know running in the heat can be a challenge, luckily we had two champions today and a milestone. Congratulations to them, and we hope we keep seeing more new faces,” said parkrun director Nadine Crouch.
