Kick off the new running season with a bang

The Panorama Running Club chairperson welcomes new members to join the club.

The new running season has finally kicked off and residents are urged to brush off their running shoes and set their minds on reaching their milestones this year.

Panorama Running Club will be celebrating 31 years of bringing runners together and chairperson Gangatha Mkele challenges individuals eager to join to set their personal goals or simply enjoy fitness with a group of positive members who encourage you to be the best you can be.

“After three decades the club has built a welcome space for runners of all levels – from beginners taking their first stride to experienced athletes. We currently operate from the Ruimsig Country Club and welcome all runners from the surrounding area.

“Recently, club members have kick-started their year with the Varsity Kudus 15km race on January 4 with our dedicated member Johnny Lawler achieving his personal best of 01:09:56 and others preparing for upcoming races this year.

“Panorama Running Club is more than just a place to run. It’s a community where you will stay healthy, make friends and create awesome memories. And that is why I have been a member since 2013,” Gangatha said.

What to expect when joining the club:

• Weekly group runs tailored for various distances and paces
• Special events such as gazebo support days at selected races, social gatherings and annual celebrations
• Training support whether you are preparing for your first race or chasing personal bests
