Paddle your way to fun and happiness

Florida Lake Canoe Club invites the community for canoeing lessons.

Every Sunday between 14:00 and 16:00, community members gather at Florida Lake Canoe Club (FLCC) to learn vital canoeing and paddling skills.

According to the FLCC Media Liaison, Jennie Dallas, this opportunity is open to all ages, provided participants know how to swim. She says their seasoned coaches teach paddling techniques, balance, posture and core strength.

“When we started this programme we wanted to allow the community to be exposed to this sport. A few of those kids and adults that we started with have become coaches at the club.

“We start them with the K1 canoe and we provide them with life jackets should any injury happen,” Jennie said.

“This is an excellent chance for individuals to develop new skills and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Florida Lake. All are welcome to join and experience the thrill of canoeing,” she said.
