Glover riders shine at equestrian qualifiers

Riders from Glover Paddocks score top five positions at Sanesa qualifiers.

The South African National Equestrian Schools Association (Sanesa) hosted their first qualifiers at Maple Ridge Equestrian Farm inviting all riders and instructors from different clubs to compete against one another. and

Maple Ridge achieved its best season opening on the weekend of February 8 and 9. Glover Paddocks attended the event intending to bring back home as many medals as possible, with the majority of their riders achieving exceptional results and placing in the top five positions. Twenty-nine riders competed in a variety of disciplines, including, Dressage, Prix Caprilli, Show Jumping, Equitation, Working Riding, In Hand Utility and Working Hunter. These disciplines determine the rider’s ability and technique, showcasing the rider and horse’s versatility in determining their final score.

Tyla Booysen showcased her skills and shone through the riding course in her 90cm challenge with her noble steed, Scooby Crimson Twilight placing first in her category. Mikayla Walls placed third in the Equitation discipline riding her pony, Gila Pelham.

In the Prix Caprilli discipline, Amelia du Plessis claimed second place riding her pony Llandilo Belle, while Shiyara Govender took two first-place medals back home with an outstanding performance.

The first qualifiers cemented the riders’ positions in the league, making them eligible to qualify for the next round and hopefully compete at a higher level in the upcoming competitions.
