Parkrunners rock tutus in style
With enthusiastic participants, milestone celebrations and great sporting moments, this Tutu Run was truly one to remember for the participants.
The Ruimsig parkrun (Tutu Run), held on Saturday, February 22, was a morning filled with celebration, colour, and impressive achievements. As participants embraced the fun tradition of wearing tutus on a “two-two” date, the event also saw notable milestones and standout performances on the 5km course.

One of the highlights of the morning was Johannes Swart’s incredible 100th parkrun milestone. Reaching this landmark is a testament to dedication, consistency, and a love for the parkrun community.
In the men’s category, Stephan Koch, representing the Born 2 Run Athletics Club, was the first to cross the finish line with an impressive time of 19:05. With 97 parkruns completed in total, Stephan is edging closer to his own milestone.

On the women’s side, Gabrielle Minnie made an unforgettable debut by finishing as the first female with a time of 28:31, an incredible achievement for a first-time parkrunner.

The parkrun delivered more than just a run – it was a morning of fun, fitness, and friendship. Parkrun continues every Saturday at 8:00, welcoming runners and walkers of all levels, whether you’re chasing personal bests, or milestones, or just looking for a fun and friendly way to stay active.
