Florida North Bowling Club hosted their annual Battle of the Sexes match on Human Rights Day.
Men and women teams took each other on in a fierce competition to determine (for this year, at least) which is the superior sex.
The bowling lawns were filled with bowlers determined to take top honours.
At the end of the day, this year’s competition was won by the men, though only just.
According to women’s captain and event organiser Ellen Louw, players had a wonderful day of bowls.
“The standard of play was very high,” she says. “Each group was determined to take the trophy.”
The overall winners, announced during the glitzy prize-giving ceremony after the games, were Johan Oosthuizen, Forget Munyai, Mornè Louw, Calvin Maloka, and Hannes Zeeman, who played superb bowls on the day.
