Albion takes on Vaal Elite

Florida Albion Football Club ended their GDPL tournament against Vaal Elite with a convincing victory.

Florida Albion Football Club took on Vaal Elite Soccer Academy in a Gauteng Development Promotional League (GDPL) match on March 22 at the Trezona Park Stadium.

Albion U14s show impressive skills on the soccer pitch.

According to team manager Boikie Ramokgadi, Albion players encountered strong resistance from the disciplined and well-trained Vereeniging teams, making for exciting games in all the age groups.

Albion’s U14 team is fast becoming a force to be reckoned with.

Players made full use of their talents and doled out a convincing hiding on the Vereeniging team. By the end of the game, the scoreboard read 5–0 in favour of the local boys.

Vaal Elite Academy struck back in the U15 event, mercilessly thrashing the Albion players from the get-go and winning the game 6–0.

Albion’s U17s encountered yet another struggle against Vaal Elite Academy.

They were unable to turn the tide and, despite a valiant effort, they had to accept a crushing 5–1 defeat.

Alas, the day was not over. By the time Florida Albion’s widely feared U19s stepped onto the pitch, supporters of the visiting team were convinced they had the tournament in the bag.

True to form, the Florida boys were determined that they would not suffer any such humiliation, taking the game to their equally capable counterparts from the first minute to the last.

The two evenly matched teams struggled it out in a nail-biting game which saw Florida Albion slowly but surely gain the upper hand, painstakingly restoring their club’s fearsome reputation and ending the game with a 4–3 victory.
