Despite only starting just over a year ago, the brothers have already achieved remarkable success, with Mason qualifying for his South African colours.

Mason, who shoots Olympic Trap and Universal Trench, has been awarded Junior Clay Target Shooting Association of South Africa’s (CTSASA) merit colours and will receive junior protea colours after participating in the Junior World Cup in Suhl, Germany, from May 19 to 27.

Mason (14) is also a strong contender to earn junior national protea colours twice in one year, which would be a remarkable milestone for such a young shooter.

Jaxon, who is only 12 years old, is hot on his brother’s heels; currently in his trial cycle for universal trench shooting, where targets are thrown from one of a group of five traps installed in a trench in front of the shooting stands, he is poised to qualify for his junior national protea colours.

Their father, Dean le Roux, who also shoots in the universal trench shooting category, is thrilled to be sharing this experience with his sons.

“It’s a wonderful sport to do with my sons. I wish I had started years ago, and I encourage other dads to do the same. It’s a great way to bond and create lifelong memories.”

The Le Roux family is proud to be part of the CTSASA, and their passion for the sport is inspiring. As they continue to aim for the top, they are sure to make a lasting impact on the sport.
