Youngster tours UK with top soccer school

Bokang Phiri, known for his exceptional soccer skills, recently had a first-hand experience in UK soccer.

Roodekrans — Bokang Phiri, a 14-year-old soccer sensation, has just returned from the trip of a lifetime – a tour of the UK with Brook House College, one of the greatest soccer schools in the world.

The young footballer, who has been playing since the age of six, was one of 13 talented players invited by Brook House College through an academy called Education Through Soccer to experience the UK’s football culture firsthand.

From March 27 to April 7, Bokang and his team immersed themselves in the world of English football, playing friendly matches, attending training sessions, and learning new skills.

One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to St George’s Park, a prestigious national football centre in England. Bokang also had the honour of being a flag bearer during the West Brom vs Sunderland AFC Championship League match.

“It was a wonderful experience touring the UK and understanding the football and how they do things,” Bokang said. “I learned new things and had a great time.”

With his idol, Pau Cubarsí, a Spanish professional footballer, as his inspiration, Bokang dreams of playing professional football internationally. This recent tour has undoubtedly fuelled his passion and determination to succeed in the sport.

With numerous accolades already under his belt, including wins in the Gauteng Development League and provincial tournaments, Bokang is set to continue building his skills and pursuing his dreams.

His experience with Brook House College has undoubtedly been a stepping stone in his journey to becoming a world-class footballer.
