Young runners shine at parkrun

The results show the talent, commitment, and consistency of both veteran and young runners.

From seasoned club runners to rising stars, Ruimsig parkrunners brought their best to the track on Saturday, May 31, with impressive finishes recorded among different age groups.

Every runner was eager to push their limits and make it to the finish line.

Marthinus Bouwer, who runs in the JM15–17 age group for Roodepoort Athletics Club, took first place with an impressive finish time of 18:46. Hot on his heels was Ryan Marshall from Tukkies Running Club, who runs in the SM20–24 category, finishing at 19:42.

Reuben Swart, competing in the SM18–19 category, finished with a strong time of 20:04, earning a personal best. Following closely in 20:31 was RCS Gugulethu Athletic Club’s Sekubedi Thoka, competing in the VM35–39 age group.

Malan Wilkin, competing in the JM15–17 age group, took the last seat in the top five with a finishing time of 21:17.

Katherine Hamman, competing in the JW15–17 age group took first place in the female category with a finish time of 23:35.
