Wilgies fly higher at Super Cup

The teams' success proves the school's commitment to developing young athletes and promoting football excellence.

Curro Wilgeheuwel’s teams (Wilgies) delivered a great performance at the Waterstone College 2025 Super Cup, which took place late in June.

Waterstone College hosts the Super Cup annually, featuring U13 and U19 girls and boys soccer players from schools around Gauteng.

At the tournament, the U19 girls’ team clinched the championship title, securing their third Super Cup win. Throughout the tournament, they showed great teamwork, skill, and determination. On the other hand, the U13 girls’ team had an equally impressive match, dominating their division with an undefeated record.

The U19 boys’ team finished second after a closely contested final. Even though the team fell short of the top spot, their tough and skilful play was the highlight of their performance.

The gathering of different top youth football teams provided a platform for Wilgies teams to show their skills. Caches, teachers, players, parents, and supporters celebrated the school’s success in the tournament.

With two championship titles and a second-place finish, the school has confirmed its reputation as a hub for developing talented young athletes. The school’s focus on football excellence and character development is evident in the team’s performance and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
