Florida Running Club invites men to join the annual Daredevil Run

The run aims to raise prostate cancer awareness and will take place at the Discovery Bowling Club.

Florida Running Club is inviting men to join its annual Daredevil Run, a spirited and lighthearted event set to take place on October 31 at the Discovery Bowling Club.

This unique 5km race aims to raise awareness about prostate and testicular cancer, along with all forms of cancer.

Participants will don eye-catching purple Speedos, and they will run around the neighbourhood, adding a humorous twist to a serious cause. Beyond the playful attire, the event aims to highlight the importance of regular health check-ups and early detection to combat cancer effectively.

“It’s a truly wonderful cause as everyone has been affected by cancer somewhere in their lives,” said Tessa Shellard, chairperson of the running club. “We hope to encourage men to take their health seriously, all while having a bit of fun in the process.”

The run will start at 17:00, and interested participants can register online at daredevilrun.com.

Registration also includes the option to purchase the purple Speedos, adding to the event’s lively atmosphere. Women are welcome to support at the water stations, cheering on the runners and spreading awareness.
