Run Walk for Life welcomes new members
Local running club encourages residents to join for the 2026 running season.
A Weltevreden park running club founded in 1983welcomed its new members ahead of the 2026 running session.
According to one of the members, Linda Cloete, the club provides members with scientifically proven programmes and guidance to help them achieve their fitness and health goals.
“Run/ Walk for Life is specifically designed to ease people of all ages, regardless of their current fitness level, into exercise and a healthier lifestyle. We also cater to active individuals, offering specialised programmes for pregnancy and scientific Covid-19 rehabilitation,” she said.
Linda added, “Run/ Walk for Life remains one of the limited exercise programmes of its kind approved by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of South Africa. The club records each training session, and members can track their progress through our app, which provides personalised feedback. Members also receive monthly reports with a detailed analysis of their performance.
“Our primary focus is encouraging people to begin their fitness journey, Run/Walk for Life also supports experienced runners and walkers.”
“The club provides advanced training techniques, including hill workouts, and time trials. Furthermore, we provide goal-oriented education, individualised training programmes, and practical tips to help members prepare for races and optimise their training for efficiency and enjoyment,” she explained.
The club rewards members with monthly distance shields and distance peaks awards for completing cumulative distances with Run/ Walk for Life, starting at 250 km, then 500 km, then 1 000 km, and every 1 000 km thereafter.
