Beautiful day at Roodepoort parkrun
As always, the parkrun featured a large number of first-timers, and many run milestones were reached.
The weekly Roodepoort parkrun, hosted at Len Rutter Park, sported more than 600 participants this past Saturday, April 11.
Although a bout of rain earlier in the week made for some muddy conditions on some sections of the 2.5km course, runners took to the trail with gusto, many achieving personal best times despite having to navigate their way around the muddy spots.

Eden Hendricks finished the race comfortably in first place, securing a time of 20:19 despite being slowed by the mud on his second lap, with an unregistered runner taking second place.
Khosa Road Runners’ Silvester Mukandi took third place in 22:04, followed by Reuben Swart in fourth, in 22:29.
The first woman over the finish line, Maryna Bijker, finished her race in eighth place overall, in a time of 23:57.
As always, the parkrun featured a large number of first-timers, and many run milestones were reached.
Stephny Visser, in her first race at Len Rutter Park, finished her 50th parkrun in a time of 51:44, while Kenneth and Dianne Rogers, both from Team Vitality, finished their 100th races.
Gary Borrill finished his 250th parkrun in 41:44, and Alphios Jirivengwa, his 300th, in 26:51.
