Emeris FC crowned champions

The achievement marks a great end to the season for the team, and they are now preparing for future tournaments.

Emeris Football Club has secured promotion to the SAFA Johannesburg Regional Men’s League after being crowned the 2025/ 26 Rand Central Local Football Association (RCLFA) Premier League champions.

The Ruimsig-based side sealed the title with a 2–0 victory over Randburg Associated Football Club (AFC), finishing the league campaign without a defeat.

Emeris FC played 24 matches during the season, winning 19 and drawing five. Andrew Dreyer, sport co-ordinator at Emeris Ruimsig, said the team’s approach was centred on maintaining its commitments both on and off the field.

“Our focus throughout the season was never about records. It was about honouring the process, showing up to training after lectures, preparing for matches while doing assignments and writing examinations. The team chose discipline when excuses would have been easier,” said Dreyer.

The unbeaten campaign means Emeris FC will compete in the SAFA Johannesburg Regional Men’s League next season.

The promotion represents the next step for the club following its RCLFA Premier League title, with the team now preparing for competition at a higher level.
