Glover riders dominate showjumping championships
From first-time successes to hard-earned placings, the team made its mark at the provincial competition.
Riders from Glover Paddocks Equestrian Park delivered a strong performance at The Western Shoppe & Gauteng Showjumping Championships, producing multiple clear rounds, steady performances and several top placings across a range of classes.
The event was held from May 1–3, and it saw some of the province’s top equestrian combinations coming together for a weekend full of competition.
In the A1.35m class, Tasmin Maher and Perri delivered a clear round, setting a positive tone for the team. Laura-Mae Barnard and Cordwallace finished 10th and 12th, respectively, after solid rounds against strong opposition in the A1.30m championship section.

Tasmin maintained her winning streak in the A1.20m class, securing third place with Secret. Andrea Bekker and Qunu also featured in the same division, finishing 15th in the championship standings.
In the A1.10m class, Andrea and Limitless placed 19th in the championship section, while Tasmin and Fantasy produced clear rounds.
One of the standout performances came from Leanè du Plessis and Shutterfly in the J1.10m division. The pair jumped a clear round and another clear in the championship class before adding just one pole in the jump-off in what was their first outing at the 1.10m level.

Emily Elmendorp and Fortified also impressed in the A90cm class, delivering a clear round and finishing sixth in the championships.
In the J90cm classes, Angelina Grab and Wally achieved sixth and fourth place finishes in the championships, while Anika Grobler and Fly also secured sixth place. Michaela Humphery and Eligius added to the team’s strong showing with a clear championship round and just one pole in the jump-off.
Lucy Leimer and Roo rounded off the team’s results in the A80cm class, finishing fifth in both of their classes. The riders worked well with their horses throughout the competition, ending the championship with great performances and results.
