A man who was arrested last year by Parkview police officers was recently sentenced to two years’ imprisonment or R10 000 fine for committing assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
According to Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, spokesperson for Parkview Police Station, it was on the 2 December 2016 when the complainant alleged that he was stabbed on his upper back with a bottle at Zoo Lake by a car guard.
A case docket was then opened at Parkview Police Station and an investigation was conducted.
The Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court found the car guard, Leroy Quinton Theron (29), guilty of assault with intent to commit grievous bodily harm.

Parkview Police Station’s Commander Colonel Theledi Gopane said he appreciated the dedication and commitment by Sergeant Tshifhiwa Muluvhu for securing a conviction and ensuring that community members are safe.
