Television show speculates about further allegations against murder accused #SandileMantsoe

Joburg – Mantsoe allegedly admitted to a friend that he owes many people a lot of money.

Murder accused, Sandile Mantsoe, is an alleged fraudster and according to a television show aired on 19 September, he has been accused of scamming 124 people.

The late-night TV show Check Point revealed that Karabo Mokoena’s alleged murderer has allegedly scammed people through his forex trading company Trillion Dollar Legacy.

In a TV show, victims accuse Mantsoe of defrauding them of huge amounts of money through false pretence and promising them huge returns if they invested in his business.

Mantsoe is shown in the videos showing off notes of money and splashing it around in the nightclub with friends.

In the videos, Mantsoe said, “In the forex trading business there are no rules…this is about making money.”

According to one of Mantsoe’s victims, Memoria Cindi, the alleged con artist promises his clients returns of between 25 to 30 percent if they invest in his business.

Cindi claimed she and her daughter have invested more than R350 000 in the company Trillion Dollar Legacy, but have not received a cent since they invested last year in August.

“I invested R250 000 and my daughter invested R100 000,” said Cindi.

“I even had to take out a loan of R75 000 but I have not received anything and when we contacted him before he was arrested he told us the money had disappeared,” she said.

Mantsoe was arrested in April for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Mokoena, whose burned body was found in a shallow grave in Lyndhurst after she was missing for almost a month.

Mantsoe is currently in police custody and is expected to appear in the South Gauteng High Court in May 2018 charged with murder, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm and defeating the ends of justice.

Another of his alleged scamming victims, Mxolisi Sandile, was reported to have said he has opened a case against Mantsoe for defrauding him of more than R60 000.

Sandile said he laid charges at the Secunda police in Mpumalanga.

Corne Smith, also a trader, said he has searched through Mantsoe’s trading account and his findings reveal that the account is illegitimate.

He warned, “People who demand personal deposits to be made in the forex trading business are redeemed illegitimate in South Africa because you have to have a banking license to perform such transactions.”

Stephany Leong, a close friend of the couple, Mantsoe and Mokoena, said Mantsoe is in a serious money crisis.

She said they have tried so many times to rescue him, including once when he had to flee his apartment because people were looking for him wanting their money.

“I… think Sandile owes about R18 million. Even Karabo had to bail him out on some occasions,” Leong alleged.

When asked, Mantsoe’s legal representative, Victor Simelani, said, “I’m not aware of his scamming business but only his money scheme.”
