Norwood police have confirmed they are still struggling to make a breakthrough regarding the case of a murder-suicide which occurred in Highlands North on 21 March.
As reported on the North Eastern Tribune Facebook page, a man allegedly hanged himself at work, apparently after killing his girlfriend at home. It remains unclear what prompted the murder-suicide, and the police lack evidence to solidify their investigation.

According to the police station, the man was found hanging from the roof at his workplace in Wynberg near Alexandra.
The spokesperson for Norwood Police Station, Captain Elliot Tshivhase said the case is being investigated by the Bramley police as the case was reported in their area.
He said they are focusing on the murder of the girlfriend who was found dead in a rented cottage in Highlands North. She was found with a wound to her neck caused by an unknown object, which Tshivhase said it is still missing.
“The girlfriend was found lying behind the bed with a deep wound but the instrument that was used couldn’t be found,” said Tshivhase.
“We are still investigating the case and no new information has come up. We have not made any breakthrough as yet but we are working with the Bramley police on this case.”

An investigating officer assigned to the case, who could not be named due to protocol, told Tribune that they are still waiting for the postmortem results. “What I can confirm, is that the case is still under investigation,” concluded the investigating officer.
