St Teresa’s Senior Primary School in Rosebank held a special assembly on January 27, to welcome the Grade 4 pupils and new Rosies to the senior primary phase. The assembly focused on growth, belonging, and celebrating the unique strengths of every Rosie, with the 2025 theme: Bee-You, encouraging pupils to embrace their individuality and contribute to the collective spirit of the school, not just moving up a grade.
Their Grade 6 guardians presented the senior primary Rosie badges to the Grade 4 pupils, showcasing the school’s mercy ethos of mentorship and kindness. This pairing aims to support and encourage younger girls, creating a sense of community. Additionally, each Grade 4 Rosie rang a ceremonial bell, gifted by last year’s Grade 7 class, symbolising the start of their senior primary adventure, and their commitment to the school’s vision of inspiring hearts, fostering a lifelong love for learning.

The assembly paid homage to St Teresa’s rich history, drawing inspiration from Catherine McAuley, the school’s founder and Sister of Mercy. Her timeless wisdom of: “We should be shining lamps, giving light to all around us,” reminded the Rosies to lead with kindness and purpose as they stepped into this new phase of their education.
Senior primary principal Lindsey Verster offered words of encouragement to the Grade 4s, praising their enthusiasm and potential. “You are a vital part of our community,” she said. “Let your unique light shine brightly and remember to always Bee-You.”
The assembly celebrated growth, community, and the values of St Teresa’s School. With their badges proudly displayed and the ceremonial bell still ringing, the Grade 4 Rosies left, ready to start this new chapter.
