Johannesburg Water responds as raw sewage flows through Pieter Roos Park

Johannesburg Water is responding swiftly to a sewage spill at Pieter Roos Park, working to identify the source and contain the flow.

Residents of Pieter Roos Park have raised concerns after raw sewage was spotted running through the popular public space. Mothusi Tholo, depot manager at Johannesburg Water’s Southdale depot, confirmed that the team was not previously aware of the issue, but has since dispatched a crew to investigate and contain the spillage. “At this stage, our team is on site to identify the source and take immediate action to stop the flow. We aim to repair the problem within a day of establishing the cause.”
