Xolani discovered basketball at the age of 12 after watching his older sister play. Curious, he asked to join her and immediately fell in love with the game. By Grade 10, he had earned a place on the first team, an achievement that showed both talent and determination. One of his proudest moments came when his team secured its first-ever win against St John’s at the St Peter’s tournament. Xolani described the match as special, saying the team worked seamlessly together and gave everything they had.

Outside of basketball, Xolani balances his studies and other activities such as rugby and drama. He consistently achieves excellent grades, particularly in maths, his favourite subject. He credits basketball with helping him develop life skills, explaining that the sport has taught him time management and responsibility. What once felt like laziness has been replaced by focus and drive.

Before every game, he takes time to pray, listen to music, and centre himself. He draws inspiration from NBA player Russell Westbrook and supports the San Antonio Spurs, but his main motivation is his team. Being part of the first team has been a dream for him since Grade 8, and he values every moment wearing the jersey.

Looking ahead, Xolani is focused on one goal. He wants to lead Parktown Boys to more victories. With his dedication, leadership, and teamwork, he is ready to guide his team to new achievements on and off the court.
