Sandringham CPF’s mandate includes ensuring a partnership in local policing and safety initiatives

Sandringham CPF's joint operations helped identify crime trends and hotspots, which led to combating various crimes.

The Sandringham CPF had a busy and productive 2025, not only assisting the community but also Sandringham SAPS where required.

The function of the CPF is to facilitate effective communication between SAPS and the community in order to build a stronger relationship.

This includes the combating of crime together with the assistance of the community, the CPF patrollers and the security companies. This cooperation has helped identify crime trends and hotspots, which have led to the combating of crime in the area’s suburbs.

Sandringham CPF member Janet Murray listed the following achievements/incidents of the CPF:

  • Human trafficking was exposed twice in the first half of 2025
  • Cable theft and transformer vandalism increased mid-year dramatically
  • CPF assisted with regular SAPS operations and roadblocks, including Operation Shanela
  • Regular meetings with the community and stakeholders
  • Social outreach programmes included Mandela Day and 16 Days of Activism for no violence against women and children, GBV campaign.

Murray noted that, looking to 2026, the CPF will be striving to improve its crime-fighting campaigns.
