Kingsmead College closes 2025 with a deep sense of pride and reflection.
Guided by the Matric theme of Community, the year became a meaningful journey shaped by shared purpose, collective effort and the courage to grow.
The year opened with celebration as the college honoured the outstanding matric results of the Class of 2024. Their achievements set a strong example for the Class of 2025, who have now completed their final examinations and look ahead with anticipation and confidence.

Growth was also evident within the school’s leadership as Kingsmead welcomed several new appointments. These included Brendan Quinn as head of the Junior School, Carey Fisher Gietzman as head of marketing, Sumayah Bagus as human resources manager and Jabulani Maswanganyi as campus manager.
Each brings a fresh perspective and a shared commitment to guiding Kingsmead into the future.

A significant development this year was the introduction of Beyond the Classroom, a thoughtful initiative led by Elsabé Fourie. This programme focuses on nurturing the emotional, physical and mental well-being of every learner, strengthening the school’s commitment to holistic education.
The inaugural Courage Festival brought a lively burst of sport and spirit to the campus. With netball and hockey teams travelling from across the country, the festival highlighted teamwork, resilience and the joy of competition.
Creativity took centre stage at the annual Book Fair under the theme Birds of a Feather. The event celebrated reading and imagination while allowing the school to donate a generous number of books to local libraries. The next fair is already set for May 23, 2026.
A heartfelt moment of gratitude was shared as Kingsmead honoured Gillian Wilkinson for an extraordinary 50 years of service. Her influence on generations of Kingsmead girls remains immeasurable.

The college also hosted its first Impact Conference, giving learners and staff from various schools the chance to exchange ideas about service and volunteering in their communities.

Physical improvements across the campus continued with refreshed classrooms for the youngest grade levels, new solar infrastructure and borehole water access, reinforcing Kingsmead’s commitment to sustainability.
The PTA’s Christmas in July Market Day added mid-year festivity, and the year will end with the much loved Christmas Carols, a tradition that brings the community together in gratitude and celebration.

As 2025 draws to a close, Kingsmead College stands united in its belief that growth is most powerful when shared.
The year has shown what is possible when a community uses courage, compassion and purpose to move forward together.
