OGRA highlights a year of growth as Orange Grove prepares for 2026

Orange Grove reflects on a year of renewal as residents celebrate progress, unity and a shared commitment to building a stronger community in 2026.

As the Orange Grove Ratepayers Association (OGRA) prepares to welcome 2026, residents are looking back on a year defined by renewed energy, collective action and a community spirit that continues to grow stronger with every challenge faced.

Devin Kaminer, chairperson of the association, shared a heartfelt New Year’s message to families and friends across the neighbourhood. He encouraged everyone to embrace the fresh start the new year brings and wished the community peace, prosperity and the courage to chase personal and shared dreams.

He reflected on the importance of treating one another with care and sincerity, reminding residents that Orange Grove’s true strength lies in its people and the connections they nurture.

The year brought several significant milestones, beginning with the election of a new OGRA executive team in late September. The newly elected members represent a vibrant mix of skills and perspectives, all united by a common purpose to continue moving the neighbourhood forward. Their transition was strengthened by a positive collaboration with the outgoing team, ensuring continuity and a shared commitment to placing the needs of residents first.

In October, the community took another meaningful step when residents gathered for the first major initiative under the new leadership. The clean up of Orange Grove Park on 9th Avenue was not just a practical improvement but a symbol of what can be achieved when neighbours come together.

Looking ahead, the association has set its sights on deepening community involvement in 2026. Their wish list includes more collaborative projects aimed at tackling illegal dumping and keeping the streets clean, as well as rolling out education campaigns to help residents better understand local by-laws and how they impact daily life.

Strengthening safety in the suburb remains a top priority, and the association hopes to build closer partnerships with various city departments to ensure that Orange Grove receives the support and resources it needs.

As the community steps into a new year filled with promise, the message from OGRA is one of unity, progress and shared responsibility.

With continued cooperation and a commitment to positive change, Orange Grove enters 2026 ready to build on the foundations laid in the past year, confident that together the community can achieve even more.
