Parktown High School for Girls’ RCL vice president aims to encourage cohesion through leadership

Vuyokazi Nosenga says being vice president is a goal achieved.

Parktown High School for Girls’ vice president for the Representative Council Learners, Vuyokazi Nosenga, said her leadership appointment was not only a goal achieved, but an opportunity to serve.

Vuyokazi added that the announcement of her position felt surreal.

“There had been times when I was fearful and doubtful, so hearing my name being called out filled me with happiness and excitement to accept this role. I was immensely grateful to get to do so.”

She is no stranger to leadership. Vuyokazi was voted into the RCL in Grade 11 and was once captain of the school’s hip-hop dance team.

The vice president noted that her new leadership role meant being accepting and kind, and listening.

“I hope to work together with my fellow RCL members and the learners of this school to serve each other, serve our school and to try our best to create an environment where everyone feels heard, accepted and can enjoy their high school experience to the fullest.”
