Motorcyclist shot at Atholl Oaklands and Fort in Melrose

The victim escaped to a nearby shopping centre where he received urgent medical attention.

Reports have surfaced indicating that a shooting took place at the intersection of Atholl Oaklands Road and Fort Street, Melrose.

A motorcyclist had stopped at the intersection on November 15 at approximately 13:00 when two suspects allegedly pulled out two firearms and started shooting at the victim.

The victim escaped to a nearby shopping centre where he received urgent medical care. Paramedics were called to the scene and transported him to a hospital.

The scene is currently still active so that authorities can conduct their investigations.  Captain Molefe Mogodi, spokesperson at Bramley Police Station, has said further comment will be sent soon.
