Bramley police honour officers at a certificate-giving ceremony
Officers were honoured for their contributions to the station during a certificate presentation ceremony hosted by Bramley SAPS.
Bramley SAPS honoured officers for their outstanding dedication and service during a certificate presentation ceremony held at the station on July 29.
Led by station commander Colonel Lionel Chetty, the ceremony recognised members whose commitment and contributions have strengthened the station’s work and reinforced its service to the community.

Chetty said the event was held to acknowledge and celebrate the officers’ efforts.
Chetty explained what the ceremony was all about.
“This morning we had a presentation whereby I wanted to recognise the good work of our colleagues, our members, our officers that really did a good job in trying to safeguard the community in our area,” he said.
He added that it is very important to give credit where it’s due. “They’re doing a good job, and I wanted to recognise them. It mustn’t go unrecognised.”
Among the recipients was Warrant Officer Jacques de Jager, who received a certificate for Best Employee in the Exhibit Management Centre.
He was recognised for maintaining a clean and organised storeroom and ensuring exhibits were properly accounted for. “It’s not often you get recognised, but when you do, it actually feels very good,” said De Jager.

He encouraged young people considering a career in policing to be in it for the right reasons. “You must join it because you want to be a policeman, not because you’re looking for a job. This is a passion job. You must have a passion for wanting to serve the community.”
Chetty said he hopes the certificate presentation will motivate all officers to keep doing an impeccable job and serving the community wholeheartedly.
“I just want it to be a stepping stone in the right direction, and to motivate members, motivate people, motivate our community at the end of the day.”
The station commander said the goal remains the same: to serve with dignity and pride, and give the best police service to the community.
