The purpose of the day was to give young players and families a chance to experience what Pirates youth rugby is all about. A demonstration of a typical Wednesday training session, as well as the Friday evening rugby environment, was given to the boys and girls to see how the sports club’s programme works.

Benjamin O’Neil, the parents’ forum representative, said: “This open day is about giving young players and their families the opportunity to experience what youth rugby is all about in a welcoming and fun environment. We want boys and girls to come down, get involved in some skills, meet other players and coaches, and see firsthand how the rugby community supports young athletes.”
