Jozi’s Emmarentia Dam will celebrate South Africa’s youth with a beautiful day of music at the dam. This full-day family event welcomes music lovers of all ages to enjoy the sun, fun, music and company of the ones you love.
Named after South African musician, Valiant Swart’s chart-topping hit of the same name, Liefde By Die Dam, can be described as a hybrid music concert and showcases the best in local talent.
Join the groundbreaking group, Die Heuwels Fantasties, revered for their unique music and their energetic live performances on Youth Day.
In addition to checking out Die Heuwels, on the main stage is iconic frontman of legendary South African rock bands Fokofolisiekar and Van Coke Kartel, Francois van Coke who released his successful self-titled debut album last year.
Whilst lazing under the leafy trees, Theuns Jordaan, who is without a doubt one of the biggest Afrikaans voices with personal sales of more than one million, will serenade you.
Adding to this stellar line-up is the man behind the name, Valiant Swart, who will take audiences on a journey with his blues guitar and harmonica.
To round off this unbelievable day of entertainment are South African Music Awards-nominated all-girl group Blackbyrd, up-and-coming star, Brendan Peyper and Jozi’s favourite indie folk musician, Majozi, who will bring you brand-new songs from his newly-released debut album.
For your day out at the dam there will be a delicious range of South Africa’s best artisan food traders. You can also bring your own picnic basket and spread your blanket out for the perfect celebration of youth and music.
