Bryanston Primary scholar patrol ready
BRYANSTON – The scholar patrol team was officially recently trained by the Johannesburg Metro Police Department and Gauteng Traffic Police and registered with the Department of Community Safety.
The Bryanston Primary School scholar patrol is ready to manage traffic and ensure the safety of its fellow learners.
The team was recently officially trained by the Johannesburg Metro Police Department and Gauteng Traffic Police and registered with the Department of Community Safety.
According to Tania Roman who manages the scholar patrol, it was great to see the learners at the crossing after the project was on hold for almost two years due to Covid-19.
“It has been a year and a half since we have had our scholar patrol teams out on the road due to the pandemic, but we are blessed to be out on the road again, helping learners cross our roads safely.”
She added that, as a community, everyone needs to work hand in hand to keep the learners safe of the roads.
“We thank the Department of Community Safety and Gauteng Traffic Police for assisting in monitoring traffic congestion around the school, as well as training our teams so that they are confident and competent in assisting with traffic regulating outside the school.”
