Rivonia’s 2026 Woman of Stature Awards nominee wants to focuse on youth development
Rivonia businesswoman and recruitment trailblazer Mary Khutlane has been nominated for the prestigious 2026 Woman of Stature Awards South Africa, now in their 11th season.
Rivonia resident and HR recruitment leader Mary Khutlane has been nominated for the 2026 Woman of Stature Awards South Africa, joining the ranks of women recognised nationally for their resilience, vision, and impact.
Now in its 11th year, the Woman of Stature Awards has grown into one of the country’s most respected recognition platforms for women in business, leadership, and community development.

This year, organisers introduced a regional nomination process, starting in Cape Town, with plans to expand across the country. It’s part of a strategy to ensure that women from all regions are seen and celebrated.
For Khutlane, who will represent Gauteng, the nomination is both humbling and deeply affirming.
“I was absolutely thrilled. Being nominated was an exciting and humbling moment, a recognition of many years of dedication, commitment, and passion,” she said.
With more than 15 years of experience in HR and recruitment, Khutlane has built her career on a philosophy that goes beyond placing candidates in jobs. She sees recruitment as a vehicle for transformation.
“My greatest passion is changing lives. Helping someone land their dream job brings me joy. I may not be able to employ everyone, but changing one life at a time has a ripple effect that reaches families and communities.”
She added that her approach had shaped countless careers. One mentee, who started as a shy graduate from a difficult background, received not only training and workplace exposure from Khutlane but also consistent personal support.

That young woman now runs her own business. Stories such as this, Khutlane said, kept her motivated to continue mentoring the next generation.
Khutlane’s influence is not limited to her company.

Recently appointed Secretary of the Toastmasters Morningside branch, she sees her involvement there as part of a larger vision.
“This role aligns perfectly with my long-term leadership vision. I aspire to serve on more boards, especially those focused on youth development.”
Representing Gauteng at the awards, she added, was also about validation of her team’s efforts.
“This nomination is more than personal recognition. It is a testament to the hard work we have put in over the past 13 years. It strengthens our brand, attracts both clients and candidates, and validates our ongoing efforts of making an indelible impact in the recruitment industry.”
Should she win, Khutlane intends to use the platform for broader social impact.
“Winning this award would be a springboard for both personal and professional growth. It would amplify my voice, increase visibility, and allow me to contribute more to charity, especially to causes close to my heart, like HOPE, a home for orphaned girls from birth through to university.”
Her nomination reflects not just her own journey but a wider shift in South African society, the growing recognition of women who lead, build businesses, and mentor future leaders.
As Charlotte du Plessis, founder and CEO of the Woman of Stature brand, explains, “Empowering and celebrating women’s achievements is pivotal in fostering a more equitable and prosperous society. The Woman of Stature Awards stand as a testament to the incredible strength, resilience, and contributions of women across South Africa, and globally.”
