The Gentle Giant Classic is one of South Africa’s most competitive bodybuilding events. A pro-qualifier and money show, the first-place winner earns a professional bodybuilder card, and the top six athletes share a cash prize sponsored by the event promoters.
For Dumagude, this latest achievement is another testament to her relentless pursuit of excellence, and her growing presence on the professional bodybuilding stage. “I’m incredibly proud of this placing. Every competition teaches me something new about my body, my discipline, and my mindset. To stand on that stage, among the country’s best, and walk away with a medal and trophy feels like a huge win.”

While Dumagude’s smile on stage radiated confidence and victory, the road leading up to the show was far from smooth. In the weeks before the event, she faced a series of challenges that tested her resolve. “This prep was honestly one of the hardest I’ve ever done. My body was tired from the long competitive season, and there were moments I questioned whether I’d even be ready in time. I just reminded myself why I started: To break barriers and to prove that resilience always pays off.”
The competition attracted some of South Africa’s top-tier athletes, making Dumagude’s podium finish even more remarkable. “It was a tough lineup, these women brought their absolute best, but that’s what pushes me. I thrive under pressure. The energy backstage was electric, and stepping out there, I knew I had to leave it all on stage.”
The Gentle Giant Classic marks an important milestone in Dumagude’s 2025 season as she continues her quest for another national title and a future pro card. “This result motivates me to go even harder. The goal is still the same: To qualify for nationals again and eventually earn my professional status.
“I’m grateful for my coach, my support team, and everyone who believes in me. We’re just getting started.”
