RKC Dojo enjoys training from international instructors

Local dojo students stepped onto a larger stage of learning when they attended the international kendo seminar.

Members of the RKC Dojo recently had the opportunity to deepen their skills and broaden their understanding of Japanese martial arts when they attended the SAKF International Seminar and SEFOR Cup 2026 on March 7.

The seminar brought together kendo practitioners from across South Africa and abroad for a day of intensive training, learning, and cultural exchange.

Led by internationally respected instructors, the event offered local martial artists the rare chance to train under some of the world’s most experienced kendo masters.

According to Warren Ho, head sensei of the RKC, the seminar was more than just a training session. “It was an opportunity to experience new teaching styles, techniques, and philosophies that are not always accessible in regular dojo practice.”

He added that participants worked on refining their fundamentals, improving their footwork, timing, and discipline. “The presence of our international instructors exposed our students to different perspectives on the art of kendo, reinforcing the importance of continuous learning.”
