Generosity knows no bounds says Bryanston CAN

The Bryanston Community Action Network (Can) would like to thank the community for its continued support throughout the year.

The community network is one of hundreds established by the Gauteng Together initiative, a branch of the non-profit Angel Network, in response to President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement on 9 April, extending the Covid-19 national lockdown.

Each Can was organised at a neighbourhood level, suburbs partnering with informal settlements and townships to connect needs and capacity across the province.

The Bryanston Can is made up of a small group of people who in Bryanston and the greater Sandton community, facilitated a number of food drives, community empowerment initiatives and outreach through the lockdown.

Jenny Rodgers, member of the Bryanston Can, thanks that community for its continuous support.

“To the wonderful community of Bryanston who assisted with money, food and clothes; to the wonderful volunteers who gave up their time to help those less fortunate; to the Angel Network who donated thousands of meals that we could pass onto the people who needed them. What a difference you made in peoples’ lives,” she said.

Bryanston Can hopes to continue its outreach well into the new year.

“We thank you all and wish you a merry Christmas and a prosperous and healthy new year,” Rodgers concluded.
