ORT Jet celebrates 18 years of existence

ORT SA is a multi-faceted, proactive, and reputable organisation, that thrives on developing teachers, youth, businesses, and communities, by improving the standard of education, so that all can achieve a better life.

A grand celebration acknowledging the stars within ORT Jet, including panel members, mentors, facilitators, and mentees, took centre stage at the 2023 ORT Jet Annual Awards in Sandton.

After a prolonged hiatus, a significant highlight of the night was the revival of the prestigious Sheldon Cohen Award.

The night’s theme, celebrating under the stars, resonated throughout.

“The evening pays tribute to the ORT Jet leadership and the mentors who generously devote their time to assist businesses.”

Chief Rabbi, Dr. Warren Goldstein said the evening exuded an atmosphere of pure bliss, characterised by a sense of unity and joyfulness.

“It was a celebration not only of achievements and recognition but also of the shared spirit of friendship and togetherness. Attendees collectively celebrated successes, fostering a network of support and encouragement that illuminated the night.”

Established over 18 years ago with a mission to facilitate business growth, ORT Jet commemorated its 18th anniversary by presenting the Sheldon Cohen Award.

This award pays homage to Sheldon Cohen, a co-founder who was tragically killed in 2008, and honours the Top Consultant of the Year as determined by ORT Jet panel members. Ian Jacobsberg clinched the award this year.

Helene Itzkin, the HOD of ORT Jet, emphasised that ORT Jet epitomises life itself, coinciding with the significance of the number 18 in Jewish symbolism, representing life.

To close the memorable evening, Ariellah Rosenberg delivered a heartfelt closing address, expressing profound gratitude to all the attendees.
