Edify Bryanston-based school is an effective extra-lesson educational business that prides itself on its ability to provide differentiated learning to the individual learner.
According to the co-owner of the school, Gemay van Heerden, 2023 was the most phenomenal year in terms of academic development and growth, both in terms of improvements in learners’ marks and educational enrichment.
“The launch of Edify’s English home language literature and language programme for our learners in grades 4 to 12 has been some of our highlights.”
Heerden added that their junior math and science programme for learners aged four to eight has been a huge success, as the creativity and curiosity demonstrated by the young minds have been incredibly inspiring.
“One of our student teachers, Sineliso Magagula, was appointed as the University of Johannesburg’s Golden Key Campus and Community Outreach Director.”
She explained that the golden key is an international collegiate honour society, which is made up of the top-performing 15% of students in a faculty and includes universities from all over the world.
“We want to thank our staff for their unwavering dedication and commitment to the individuals they teach, and we thank the direct communities around us for entrusting us with the education of our most precious people, their children.”
Van Heerden highlighted that they believe that the country’s strongest asset is the youth, as most of them are passionate and talented.
“They are diverse and yet have the most beautiful way of finding common ground and embracing change and differences. If we as adults can guide them and create opportunities for them to learn, grow, and develop, I honestly believe we have such a bright future to look forward to, with today’s youth as the leaders of tomorrow. We need to educate them, as education is the most powerful thing, we can equip our youth with.”
