Royal Countess Zingara brings La Dolce Royal to Johannesburg, Melrose Arch
The Royal Countess Zingara returns to Johannesburg with a lavish new dinner-cirque experience at Melrose Arch.
Following a sold-out season in Cape Town, the Royal Countess Zingara is set to enchant Johannesburg audiences once again with its latest production, La Dolce Royal.
Opening on June 20 at Melrose Arch, the show marks a highly anticipated return to the City of Gold after more than a decade. The famed dinner-cirque spectacle, which reopened in Cape Town in October last year to demonstrative reviews and sold-out performances, now returns to Johannesburg to bless Zingarians once again with performances delivered with skill and confidence by an outstanding South African and international cast.
Conceptualised by Richard Griffin and directed by Craig Leo, the production features a dynamic mix of local and international talent. Audiences can expect exciting performances from former Cirque du Soleil aerial cradle artists Juan Pablo Palacios and Victoria Perez Iacono, alongside Rola Bola specialist Axel Perez, Johannesburg-based acrobat Samantha Kotze, and vocal performances by Megan Spencer and The Clorettes.

La Dolce Royal co-director Valentina Leo said: “In a world unravelling at the edges, La Dolce Royal is our poetic reply. It is a love letter to the human spirit and a reminder to hold fast to beauty, to hope, and to one another.”
Guests will be guided through the experience by a timekeeper and welcomed by the symbolic weeping woman, whose sorrow yields to joy, as the narrative unfolds through acts of wonder, music, song, spectacle, and daring.
