An influence equation event comes to Morningside

At a masterclass in Morningside, Katie Mohamed unpacked the formula for meaningful influence, voice with intention, story with integrity, and impact with purpose.

In a room awash with bold shades of red, the colour chosen to symbolise unapologetic power, women gathered for a masterclass that promised more than strategies.

Katie Mohamed’s influence equation event, at The Venue Green Park, Morningside, on August 21, was an invitation to step into leadership with clarity, courage, and conviction. “This women’s month is about reclaiming our voices. Before you open up, before you tell your story, you need to know what outcome you want to create.”

Mohamed explained that influence is not about authority or scale, but about alignment. She defined it through three interconnected principles:
• Voice with intention: Influence starts by deciding what you want people to feel. Do you want them to be inspired, reassured, or moved to act?
• Story with integrity: Influence deepens when your story reflects truth and consistency. “The more integrity your story has, the more impact it carries,” she explained.
• Impact as outcome: When voice and story come together, they create the conditions for lasting influence.

Mohamed urged women to consider intention, not only in professional settings, but in daily life: in conversations with children, partners, colleagues, and even in online posts. “Influence is emotional first, intellectual second.”

She emphasised the role of the community. Influence, she argued, is never a solo act. “Surround yourself with people who lift you higher, who challenge you, who remind you of your integrity. Those are the voices that keep you accountable and fuel your confidence when doubt sets in.”
